James: A Life of Impact

How do we have a life of impact during our time on earth? It starts with the Father – as we sit in His presence and spend time with Him we will understand more and more who He is and who we are in Him. A life of impact is also shaped by the character of God, it is fixated on the Perfect Law [Jesus Christ] and is not satisfied with empty religion!

Life Group Questions

  • Read Mark 12:28 - 34. Jesus here sums up the entire law. What does it look like in your own life to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength? What does it look like to love your neighbor as yourself?

  • "Be quick to listen, and slow to speak" is wisdom found throughout scripture. Are there invitations from the Spirit in your life to grow in listening? Where are they?

  • In our culture, what does it look like to practice "pure and undefiled" religion?

  • If time permits, read the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5 - 7) as a group. If people feel prompted to share reflections that the Spirit highlights to them they can, but it is also good just to read scripture aloud. Invite the Spirit to help you actively listen to the text, asking for his empowerment to slowly embody this life.
